I taught myself to play by listening to music, playing along, inventing parts, jamming with others and recording. Making records and playing in bands is about creating and responding in the moment. It’s about serving the music, wherever it leads.
I’m not the best reader in the world, and I don’t teach a book course. I believe that the sound in your head is what should come out of your body, and that the fastest way to get to that place is by listening and layering, as your ability grows.
